Research overview: Power Singh Inc., on behalf of Media Monitoring Africa, prepared a discussion document which seeks to unpack what it means for children to participate in a digital environment, focusing on challenges, threats and opportunities. The discussion document was used to inform a group of children who debated and discussed their online rights and began developing the first version of the Digital Rights Charter. The Digital Rights Charter seeks to give effect to an internet that is accessible, safe and empowering, and which advances the development of children in line with their rights and interests.
