About the Justice Centre.

In order to further support access to justice for people and communities, Power & Associates operates an Information Rights and Online Harms Justice Centre from 09h00-12h00 on the first and third Wednesdays of every month.
The Justice Centre is based at 20 Baker Street, Rosebank, Johannesburg.
We accept walk-in clients, without a booking, or we schedule appointments for consultations (both in-person or online) via the below booking form.
The Justice Centre is staffed by admitted attorneys who provide pro bono advice, resources, referrals, and legal support on information rights and online harms related matters.

The Power & Associates Justice Centre provides advice, resources, referrals, and legal support in the areas of information rights (which include the rights to access to information, privacy, and freedom of expression) and online harms, which include:
Access to information
- Accessing information held by the state.
Privacy and data protection
- Protecting personal information.
- Unlawful surveillance.
Freedom of expression and hate speech
- Whistleblower protections.
- Online expression, including the removal of online content.
- Hate speech on- and offline.
Online harms
- Online harassment.
- The non-consensual sharing of intimate images.

The Power & Associates Justice Centre assists with:
Advice
- General guidance.
- Guidance on complaints mechanisms and court processes.
- Preliminary assessments on the merits of a matter.
- Preliminary advice on potential options.
Resources
- Providing legal information and resources, including assistance with completing prescribed forms.
Referrals
- Providing referrals to complaints mechanisms, regulatory bodies, state departments or forums, Chapter 9 Institutions, civil society organisations, and other legal practitioners, where possible.
Legal support
- Where a matter has prospects of success and subject to capacity and available resources, Power & Associates attorneys may be able to assist with pro bono legal support.
