About the 2023 Summer Vacation Work Programme
Power & Associates seeks to appoint up to three law students to participate in its 2023 Summer Vacation Work Programme (the Programme) at its Rosebank, Johannesburg offices from 4-8 December 2023.

Purpose
The purpose of the Programme is to offer law students an opportunity to gain experience and receive exposure to public interest legal practice to inform their career planning.
During the course of the Programme, law students will be given practical insights into Power & Associates’ practice areas and will receive structured training and guidance on human rights-related legal practice in South Africa.
Required experience
Candidates should:
- Be enrolled at a South African university for B.A. Law, B.Comm. law, LL.B., or a Masters degree in law.
- Have a demonstratable commitment to human rights, social justice, and constitutionalism. This may be evidenced through, for example, the candidate’s previous volunteering experience, involvement in relevant student societies, academic performance in human rights-related modules, including constitutional and administrative law, and/or advocacy experience.
Stipend
Power & Associates offers a R2500 stipend to vacation work students following the successful completion of the Programme.
In certain circumstances, we may also be able to provide a stipend towards travel and accommodation for the duration of the Programme.
